Check the location of the paper jam, and follow the procedure described below, while referring to the directions that appear on the touch panel display, to remove the jammed paper.
NOTE
|
If the Paper Deck Unit-B2 is attached, move the paper deck unit away from the main unit before proceeding with this procedure.
If paper is loaded in the multi-purpose tray, remove the loaded paper.
If the Copy Tray-J1 is attached to the main unit, remove all output paper from the tray.

Remove any paper jammed from the multi-purpose tray.
2.
Open the lower right and upper right covers of the machine.

1. Grip the handle, and open the lower right cover of the machine.
|
2. Open the upper right cover of the machine.
|
3.
Remove any jammed paper from the output unit.
|
1. Open the paper output unit.
IMPORTANT
|
The paper output unit can be opened up to 40 degrees. Forcefully opening the paper output unit may damage the machine.
|
|
2. Remove any jammed paper.
|
3. Push the output unit back into its original position.
|
4.
Remove any jammed paper from the entrance of the duplexing unit.
|
1. Remove any jammed paper in the upper part of the duplexing unit.
|
2. Remove any jammed paper in the lower part of the duplexing unit.
|
5.
Remove any jammed paper from the fixing unit.
|
1. Pull down the upper cover of the fixing unit by its tab.
|
2. Remove any jammed paper.
|
 CAUTION
|
The fixing unit and its surroundings inside the machine may become hot during use. When removing jammed paper or when inspecting the inside of the machine, do not touch the fixing unit and its surroundings, as doing so may result in burns or electrical shock.

|
NOTE
|
If you cannot remove the jammed paper, return the upper cover of the fixing unit back to its original position, and then remove the jammed paper from the lower part of the fixing unit.

|
3. Close the upper cover of the fixing unit.
|
6.
Remove any jammed paper from the duplex unit.
7.
Remove any jammed paper from the multi-purpose tray.
8.
Remove any jammed paper located between the main unit and lower right cover, if paper jam occurs during reversing.
9.
Close the upper right cover and then close the lower right cover.
 CAUTION
|
When closing the upper and lower right covers of the main unit, be careful not to get your fingers caught, as this may result in personal injury.

NOTE
|
Gently close the covers until they click into place in the closed position.
If the Paper Deck Unit-B2 was moved away from the main unit, reconnect it to the main unit.

10.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE
|
The screen indicating the directions on how to clear the paper jam is displayed repeatedly until the paper jam is cleared.
